Made from terracotta with a special patina to mimic wet clay. "Holy Innocent" is currently with a permanent collection and can be viewed at Raphael's Refuge in Flatonia, Texas. The sculpture is of a 36 week old infant still in the womb. It is a healing meditation piece for women whom have lost a young child either during pregnancy or shortly after. "Holy Innocent" was chosen in order to identify young children lost with the suffering inflicted on the male children massacred by Herod in search for the Christ child. December 28 is the feast day for the Holy Innocents.
